February 8, 2005 Meeting




In Attendance: Ed Jacobs, Jim Jacobs,  Rita Marrocchio, Andrea Whelan,
                         Mary Battles, Maureen McGrail
                      
                        


The Treasurer's report was submitted. Our total cash on hand is $43,558.25, which includes $20,765.00 in appeals received in January. The total appeals received for the year is $31,020.00.It was voted to contribute $8,000.00 to the school this month making a total of  $28,000.00 to date for this year. It was also voted that Maureen could write a check for an additional contribution if more appeals are received and the school has a severe need.

The contributions from the appeal letter are still coming in but we are behind last year. It was decided to hold a telethon some time in March. Maureen is going to check on dates when we can use BC's facility and also if BC can help us.

The contributions in memory of Betty Walsh are approximately $4200.00. We are still looking into the naming of a suitable memorial. (This item is a carry over from last month's meeting and was not discussed  in  February.)

The budget for the school was discussed further. The Church administration has written in the same contributions as last year for both the Home & School and the Alumni. Since both the Home & School and the Alumni contributed more to the school last year than they took in as income the contributions will be less this year. It was decided that all we can do is the best we can and we will contribute as much as we can of what we receive.

The Home and School and the Alumni will co-sponsor a fund raising event. This will be a dinner theatre night at Mount Saint Joseph's Academy on Friday April 15th. The show will be the "Soprano's Last Supper". The goal is to sell 350 tickets at $50.00 each. Andrea will put together a letter and order form. Carol and Maureen will take care of the food. Rita M. will take care of raffle and tickets. Carol will print out a "good" list of labels.


The next meeting is Tuesday March 8,,2005 at 7PM in the school cafeteria.
